I still hear
The noise echoes in my ears
Broken dishes
Banging door
Arguing
Hitting
Yelling
Screaming
Crying
Chasing
Running
Noises
between my parents
almost everyday
like an extra
"spiritual ritual"
when I was little
didn't want to hear
But
couldn't help it
didn't know what to do
but
got used to it
the noise kept repeating
it became a habit
of
everyday life
now
I am older
Noises
still chase
My memories toward the present
I want
to run away from
broken dishes
banging door
arguing
hitting
yelling
screaming
crying
chasing
running
noises
but
they keep chasing
